Services

Space Environment Technologies (SET) provides commercial labor services for research and operations, for value-added space environment and space weather products, as well as for integrated space- and ground-system solutions. SET is a manufacturer of primary space weather products and our company holds a GSA Schedule 871 (Professional Engineering Services) contract for the convenience of our U.S. Government customers. For our commercial customers and the public, we offer a wide range of services and products. Some of these are fee-based and some are no-charge. Our commercial labor services and labor rates are listed in the tables below. We also identify space environment user requirements for solar irradiance products.

Commercial Labor Services

Strategic Planning for Technology Programs and Activities
  • Plan and develop strategic engineering applications related to space weather programs or projects that use solar-terrestrial remote sensing and space-physics models.
  • Define and interpret high-level space weather engineering performance requirements.
  • Characterize space environment effects from solar photons, particles, and magnetic fields upon technological systems for the purpose of mitigating space weather risks.
Concept Development and Requirements Analysis
  • Develop or enhance high level performance specifications of systems, projects, missions, or activities related to space weather programs or projects that use solar-terrestrial remote sensing and space-physics models.
  • Define and analyze engineering application requirements, conduct early planning, evaluate technical approach options, and estimate associated costs for activities related to the space environment, space weather processes, their terrestrial effects, and their impacts on society.
System Design, Engineering and Integration
  • Design, engineer, and integrate space weather systems, including the transition of research grade models and data systems into prototypes.
  • Develop detailed designs for operational systems, products, and services.
  • Identify, analyze, and mitigate performance risks as well as develop traceability matrices from programmatic goals and project objectives, through design details, to an integrated system.
Test and Evaluation
  • Conduct comprehensive testing and evaluation of space weather operational systems.
  • Use comparative datasets, system performance metrics, and standard operational test scenarios to ensure robustness, extensibility, scalability, and graceful degradation of real-time operational systems to climatological conditions.
  • Demonstrate that prototype systems and subsystems perform in accordance with the design objectives.
Integrated Logistics Support
  • Implement integrated logistics support for operational space weather systems, services, and products.
  • Analyze, plan, and design engineering logistics support including hardware/firmware/software purchases, system upgrades, operator or personnel training, and maintenance schedules.
  • Implement space environment data input, processing, and output through automated data communication and file management routines.
  • Adapt systems to changing requirements during their life cycles
